Another art show

Our treats were at another art show this past weekend.  They were a hit!!!!  People were taking business cards left and right.  It was a good night.  Now we wait for all these people who love our cupcakes and cookies to place orders.

Pray for us.  God Bless!

Red velvet baby!

Well, I had an order for 2 dozen red velvet cupcakes this weekend.  They had an awesome purple cream cheese frosting and we made little princess crowns with white chocolate and edible pink pearls.  They were sooooo cute!

We also did some cocktail cakes for a friend.  I am sure those will be a hit!  He ordered the ones that were the favorites of the tasting last weekend.

We were talking... we being my fiance' Kent and I, well we were thinking about how saturated the market is getting with cupcakes shops and such.  We love baking cupcakes and stuff, but we also love baking all types of other things.  So, we are hoping that at some point we can get a small diner.  That way we can bake as well as cook meals.  We are super excited about this.

Any how, until next time... we are praying for more orders!!!  Bring them in!

After the taste testing...

Well, the taste testing party was on Saturday.  It was a lot of work leading up to it.  We made 7 cocktail varieties which included:

rum & coke
margarita
strawberry margarita
long island tea
black russian
lemon slap
strawberry daiquiri

and 3 non cocktail:

pina' colada
chocolate peanut butter
lemon strawberry

I have to say that it was a fun time!!!  We enjoyed having everyone come out and taste and rate our cupcakes.  In my opinion, it was a huge success.

We got a lot of great feedback, some suggestions, and some orders. The consensus was that all of the cupcakes were delish!  People of course had their favorites.  I would say the hits of the night were chocolate peanut butter, lemon slap, black russian and lemon strawberry.

We definitely know what our signature cupcake will be, and that is the chocolate peanut butter.  We have yet to meet anyone that didn't love those.

We took some rum screwdriver cupcakes to an event a few weeks ago and those were a hit as well.  So... we will continue on to perfect the ones we got suggestions on, and to come up with some new ideas.  We love it when people order something that they can't get anywhere else.  It gives us the opportunity to experiement with something new, which is always a treat for us. :)

Well, my lunch break is over. I will post more later.  I plan to update the home page and post our prices and stuff like that.  Until then.... happy cupcaking!!!

Tougher than I thought

Well, I thought just because you have good cupcakes the orders would fly in... not the case.  Even though we have friends and family that love the cupcakes, we need to get the word out to other people.

Sooooo, we are having a taste testing... I think.  We want to do an adult line of cupcakes.  So we definitely have a tasting for those.  I think it is going to be a challenge, but we are up for it.

We did make some awesome camo cupcakes.  It was cool.   We really enjoyed doing that.

Welp, that's it for now.  Will blog more later about how the taste testing goes.

The start...

I remember baking and cooking from a young age.  I always enjoyed watching my mother or god mother bake.  Their baked treats were the highlight of Thanksgiving and Christmas.  My mom would begin baking for the holidays in late September, early October to ensure she had enough for my 7 brothers and I and any other relatives that decided to drop in for the holiday meals.  Those were and still are awesome times.

Over the years I grew to love baking as much as my mother and aunts do. After I moved away from home, I often thought about starting a bakery, but didn't really have anyone that loved baking as much as I did.  Now I have a wonderful man that loves it as much as I do.

But that's a different chapter.  :)
